British Manufacturing History

My exploration of the story of British Manfacturing

Energy

This industry is fundamental to the way manufacturing has evolved. I was privileged to meet with Kelvin Bray the managing director for twenty-five years of Ruston Gas Turbines to discover how this British technology had been used in oil and gas exploration by 80% of the world’s oil companies.

In this chapter I explore electricity generation and the companies involved through coal, oil, gas, nuclear and finally renewables.

The image is of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s visit to Ruston Gas Turbines. Kelvin told me how intently she listened.
